Stanley Go Quick Flip 1L water bottle review

Everyone needs a water bottle on their adventure. We recently added the Stanley Go Quick Flip to our inventory and we must say, it’s been a change! We both started this trip with simple water bottles of 750 milliliters. That was fine and great, but water got hot during the day, lids got dirty very easily, and the worst part of all; you needed two hands to drink while you also needed a hand to hold the steering wheel. Now, with the Stanley Go Quick Flip, we only need one hand to open it, hot water is never the issue anymore (hello, insulation!) and the bottles hold 1 liter of water, so we don’t have to fill up as often as we used to.

What is the Stanley Go Quick Flip water bottle?

The Stanley Quick Flip is one of the brand’s newest insulated water bottles, easily opened with one hand and one click. The lid is secured by a steel latch that folds over the button, so you can take your bottle anywhere and in any bag without having to worry about it leaking or opening by accident. And so far, it hasn’t leaked at all, so mission achieved!

The bottle holds 1.06 L and can be easily filled by screwing off the plastic lid. This enables you to add lemon slices or any other kind of fruit to your bottle and to clean it properly when needed. The lid itself has a large hole to drink from, creating a nice flow of water. Unfortunately, this hole isn’t made for bumpy tracks and potholes, leaving you with either an unsatiable thirst or a wet t-shirt.

The bottle comes in various colors, such as bright blue (Azure), dark orange (Tigerlily Plum), and blue greyish (Shale, the bottle in our photos). Unfortunately, these bottles don’t come in Stanley’s brand color; Hammertone Green (or any of the other Hammertone colors, for that matter).

Specifications

  • Capacity: 1.06 liter
  • Insulation: 10 hours warm
  • Insulation: 18 hours cold
  • Weight: 530 grams
  • Dimensions: 8.7 x 8.7 x 29 cm

Pros

  • Easy quick flip; easy when driving, one hand opening, a game-changer
  • 1.06 liter capacity, great for long drives
  • Keeps water cold for 18 hours, warm for 10 hours, and 2.5 days iced (we love it that our cold morning water stays cool for the entire morning)
  • Easy to clean

Cons

  • The large drinking hole is great, but not so much on bumpy tracks
  • The paint/finishing layer is not as great as the original Stanley coating (we know the vibrations and consequent rubbing of overland travel emphasize anything and everything though)
  • Does not fit all cup holders due to its large size (we keep them in the dashboard openings next to the vent levers in our Defender)

Would we buy it again?

Apart from the coating getting damaged so easily – which is a real shame for someone who loves everlasting and durable products – we would definitely recommend this bottle to everyone. We’ve been fans of the Stanley brand for a long time now, and this bottle fits right in with all our other products. It’s a high-quality bottle that keeps your drinks cold/warm as promised and opens with one easy flip, and then a click.

One thing we might change is the volume, though. As the 1.06 L bottle does not fit in our cup holders, we have been thinking of downgrading to the smaller version (0.7 L) of the Go Quick Flip bottle to make storage easier in the car. Although it will increase the number of times we have to get out of the car to fill it, it will create more space in our passenger’s seat leg space or in the dash.

Stanley Strong

Like all Stanley products, the Quick Flip comes with a limited lifetime warranty and is as tough as nails! We’ve dropped it numerous times already – in the dust, and on concrete – and it’s still going strong!
