Traveling over land is one of the most amazing things you can do in your life – at least, that is what we think. But before you set off, you have to make sure that you are ready for the journey you’re about to go on. Questions like: have I gotten all my vaccinations? Is my passport still valid? And most importantly: Where will I go? will be answered relatively easy. One of the most important questions, however, is often the most difficult to answer. That question is: have I packed everything I need?

After departing on three major expeditions (eight months, eleven months and one still going on after seven months), we have gained quite the experience in packing for international travels. It definitely happened to us on previous trips that we set off, just to realize we left something at home, only hours in the trip. Sounds familiar?

To help you pack with ease, we finally took the time to compile a list which is fool-proof, easy to use and applicable to every long-term overlanding trip that you might go on. It will cover most overlanding destinations and will definitely help you on a summer holiday as well.

How does it work?

The list, which you can download in both PDF and Excel-format, is ready for you to use. If you want, you can print the PDF right away. Here we included a check-off column and a space to fill in the amount you need of each product, so that you know you’re ready at the blink of an eye.

The Excel-format is there for you if you want to take a closer look first, possibly adding or removing products off the list, before you start packing. You will notice we love photography and we work a lot on the road on our laptops, making a thorough list of electrical stuff inevitable. Thanks to the Excel-format you will be able to tweak the list to your needs! Finally a packing list that you will really use, instead of downloading a beautiful PDF just for reference’s sake. Let’s start packing and take off!
