Barebones Beacon Light camp lamp review
A few months ago we finally got the Barebones Beacon camp lamp, and it has changed the way we live around camp. We believe lights are the foundation of creating a comfortable atmosphere, even when camping, so it’s important to pick your lamp carefully. We recently upgraded from a very basic and harsh light to the Barebones Beacon Light, and it has made a huge difference in our evening lives, outside as well as in the rooftop tent. The Barebones Beacon light has a vintage touch to it, but it’s modern and works up to 200 hours on a single charge in its most dimmed mode. A high-end camp light that’s worth looking into.
What is the Barebones Beacon Light camp lamp?
What makes the Barebones Beacon Light immediately stand out, is its versatile design. On top, you have a carabiner enabling you to easily and safely hang the lamp somewhere around camp. On the bottom, however, the translucent plastic is designed so you can also put it on the table during a cozy evening outside in the bush.
The light illuminates the room well due to its translucent cone. The top part of the Barebones Beacon Light is available in multiple colors and is made from metal. Here on top, you can also find the battery indicator lights. The brightness of the light can be adjusted by twisting the light. This feature takes some getting used to, as it is different than the usual button, but we have gotten fully accustomed to it and think it’s very practical.
The camp light has an integrated USB cable for charging and doesn’t require extra AA or AAA batteries. The Beacon Light has multiple brightness modes and a huge battery life, depending on the brightness.

Would we buy it again?
Yes, yes, yes. We absolutely love this light! It creates an incredible atmosphere, is easy to use, and is just as easy to charge with its USB cable. The only thing that we would change (if we could) is the length of the USB cable. With our current vehicle design, we decided to only charge it when standing still because otherwise, the light would stretch the cable. Adding a slightly longer cable would give us the possibility to safely tuck away the light so we could also charge it while driving. But of course, that is just a minor detail in this entire review.
