Stanley Classic Perfect-Brew Pour Over review

The Stanley Perfect-Brew Pour-Over is designed for overlanders who take their coffee, and the environment, seriously. As coffee lovers, we should’ve added this to our gear selection years ago. It is the perfect gadget for caffeïne addicted overlanders and holidaymakers alike. This coffee maker brews up to 600 ml of coffee in a single batch, more than enough for a single person, or for two people drinking reasonable cups. It stands out because it doesn’t use any disposable filters, and is almost unbreakable thanks to its stainless steel design. A great fit for our lifestyle.

What is the Stanley Classic Perfect-Brew Pour Over?

The Perfect-Brew Pour-Over is an on-the-go coffee maker for travelers and outdoor enthusiasts alike. It’s the outdoor version of a traditional drip coffee maker from home. This Pour-Over is friendly to use and works great every time. You simply spoon in your medium-ground coffee, saturate the ground with hot water, add more hot water, and let it drip. The simple yet thought-through design eliminates the need for disposable filters and makes cleaning it super easy. The steel filter holds back the grounds, while the water seeps through the grounds providing you with a tasteful coffee.

It has a capacity of 600 ml which should be sufficient for coffee-loving couples, or someone in desperate need of some energy. The sidewall of the Stanley Pour-Over features a measuring guide to make sure you dosage it right, time after time. Once you get the hang of it, you’ll know what fits your cup.

Would we buy it again?

This is going to be one big yes, we would surely buy the Stanley Pour-Over coffee maker again! We love to drink espressos in the evening or late afternoon but love the bigger quantity of a good drip coffee in the morning. This coffee maker of Stanley covers all our needs, as it’s hard-wearing, has a large enough capacity, and does not require any disposable filters.

The fact that it doesn’t require any additional throw-away filters is unique and sustainable. It aligns with our values to have minimal impact on the environment, but also eliminates the need to buy new filters, something that can be challenging on long-term trips.

Thanks to its durable design, large capacity, and stainless steel filter this is a game-changer for long-term overlanders who care not only about their coffee but the environment as well.

Our approach for gear reviews

As long-term overlanders we fully understand the need for high-quality and reliable gear. We know that if gear isn’t up to standard it can hinder your adventures, resulting in discomfort or a dangerous situation.

We write our reviews after extensive testing and with you – an adventurous overlander – in mind. We hope you appreciate our information, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Pro Tips

The Pour-Over is perfectly combined with Stanley’s Beer Pints or coffee mugs. If you want to combine it with the Stanley Mug there even is a bundle available.

Although the design is easy to clean – unscrew the parts and rinse – you can do better if you want to save water. Whenever we camp remotely and want to save water we just throw the old grounds out, put the coffee maker in the sun, and let the sun dry it out. An hour later we can wipe away the last grounds and everything is clean again. No need to use water.
